April

Quintiles forms a joint venture to commercialize products in Asia-Pacific. In addition to Quintiles, the joint venture partners are InterPharma Asia Pacific, parent of drug distributor Zuellig Pharma, and Asia investment company Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited.

May

Quintiles launches its expanded strategic partnering group under the NovaQuest brand and announces an alliance with global investment firm TPG-Axon Capital to support significant co-development and co-promotion agreements.

August

Quintiles opens a data processing center in Martin County, North Carolina,
expanding  its global data management network.

2007

Quintiles celebrates its 25th anniversary in business, growing from a small trailer on the University of North Carolina campus to more than 20,000 employees (in 2007) around the world.

April

Quintiles opens a central laboratory in Mumbai, India, driven by the company’s growing ability to solve customers’ emerging clinical and commercial challenges.

May

Quintiles dedicates new facility for clinical research in Overland Park, Kansas.
Quintiles and Thermo Fisher Scientific create joint venture called Cenduit™ to provide integrated response technology services.

October

Quintiles acquires Bio-Trials, a leading Central American Research Organization, with headquarters in Panama and offices in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Ecuador and Peru.

December

Quintiles forms a new investor partnership including Chairman and CEO Dennis Gillings, CBE, along with private investment firms Bain Capital and TPG Capital as the lead investors with 3i becoming a significant investor. Temasek Holdings remains a Quintiles Investor.

2008

January

Quintiles Central Lab expands and consolidates its Global Central Laboratories and Clinical Development Services (CDS) units in Beijing to accommodate growing business in China.

May

Quintiles acquires Eidetics, a privately held decision-analytics and market research consulting firm located in Boston as part of its expanding Quintiles Consulting business.

September

NovaQuest, the managed partnership group of Quintiles, receives Eli Lilly and Company’s highest award for its “flawless execution” over four years in helping Lilly achieve strategic and operational objectives vital to its business success.

December

Quintiles acquires Targeted Molecular Diagnostics (TMD) of Westmont, IL to strengthen its Global Central Laboratories service offerings in oncology, an increasingly important growth area of drug development and to provide strong capabilities in tissue-based testing, a critical component of the modern oncology drug development process.

2009

March

Quintiles moves into new world headquarters, Quintiles Plaza, in Research Triangle Park, NC.  New 10-story, LEED-certified headquarters has capacity for 1,100 employees to consolidate existing, local facilities and provide room for continued growth.

April

Quintiles named by industry decision-makers as the most favored contract research organization (CRO) according to two independent surveys. Quintiles ranked number one across a range of service and reputation attributes, from breadth of service through to therapeutic expertise (Blair and ISR reports).

September

Quintiles opens an expanded regional facility near Edinburgh, Scotland. The purpose-built facility consolidates three buildings into a single state-of-the-art complex.

November

Quintiles opens expanded Asia-Pacific facility in Singapore.  The new Quintiles regional headquarters facility doubles the size of its previous space in Singapore and provides additional room for expansion as future demand grows.

2010

January

Quintiles announces new positioning, new brand identity, driven by the company’s growing ability to solve customers’ emerging clinical and commercial challenges.
