Patient Recruitment: An integrated, holistic approach

You’ve spent millions getting your product to trial,
but you still need patients to fulfill your protocol...

Find, Enroll & Retain the right patients quickly and efficiently with Quintiles.

Finding Patients: Where are the patients? How do you improve access to patients at participating investigator sites? We solve these problems by combining our feasibility expertise, strategic site relationships and direct patient outreach capabilities.

Feasibility:

Quintiles’ epidemiologist-led feasibility group has 50+ people worldwide responsible for coordinating feasibility, meaning we have local people with local knowledge who can provide a rapid response for protocol assessment.

  • No other CRO has more people dedicated to feasibility assessment.

Quintiles data-driven approach to feasibility leverages our proprietary, patient information data sources and integrates them with external data to provide a comprehensive assessment on IF, HOW MANY & WHERE patients exist.

Site Relationships:

Quintiles has more site relationships in more countries for more disease areas than any other CRO, making finding patients much easier. And because we manage them on three levels, the depth of our relationships is far stronger than what you’d typically find via a contracted PI relationship. Our site relationship levels are:

  • Tactical — Sites that perform 1-2 Quintiles studies per year.
  • Partner — High performing, high enrolling sites that participate in strategic, long-term relationships with Quintiles. We currently have more than 1,100 partner sites across 20 countries. Click here to see benefits of our Partner Site Program
  • Prime — Like partner sites but tend to be larger, growing research enterprises that have a willingness to engage in active alliance management and are capable of performing multiple Quintiles studies per year.

Direct Patient Outreach:

Quintiles develops a Strategic Recruitment Plan for each study which drives the overall outreach strategy, plus a site-specific plan to maximize efficiencies at the site level.

  • These plans detail the development and use of both site specific materials – brochures, study branded materials, etc. – and comprehensive media outreach campaigns.

Quintiles Trial Enrollment Accelerator (QTEA) is a centralized tool that improves the ability of sites to use their recruitment stipend to find patients by providing them with professional quality outreach tools and discounted media expenses. Centralization of the tool ensures consistent look and feel of outreach materials and allows for more robust reporting from an overall and site level perspective.

  • Utilization of Quintiles outreach tools has been proven to increase enrollment rates, sometimes by up to 50%.

All Quintiles’ patient recruitment activities are designed and conducted with due consideration of the safety, ethics and data privacy responsibilities associated with clinical research on human subjects. and data privacy responsibilities associated with clinical research on human subjects.
