Forrest H. Anthony, M.D., Ph.D., is Senior Director and Head of the Oncology Center of Excellence for North America. His role is to develop insights and innovations that can help improve the probability of success of our oncology customer development projects and programs.
Prior to joining Quintiles, Forrest was a biotech entrepreneur. He served at several private biotech companies in the Philadelphia area as head of oncology clinical development, most recently as Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of Eleison Pharmaceuticals LLC, and prior to that, Senior VP at Onconova Therapeutics Inc. He was the CEO and founder of Avid Corporation, an antiviral drug discovery company, and before that, a founder of Quality Biotech Inc, a contract biosafety lab serving the biotech industry. He also started affiliated companies in Glasgow and Belgium. He was on the Executive Committee of the founding Board of BIO, the international biotechnology trade association, and President (1991-92) of ABC, a precursor trade association that merged with IBA to form BIO. He started his career as a researcher at J & J and Rorer Group (now Sanofi).
Forrest holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master of Medical Science from Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Medical School, an MD from Oregon Health Sciences University, and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from University of Virginia. He completed a Residency in Internal Medicine in Oregon, and is a licensed MD.
