Dr. Gouya is associate professor in internal medicine at the Medical University Vienna with her special research focus on experimental models of thrombosis in new anticoagulants. Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Clinical Pharmacology, her clinical work has centered in treatment of heart failure and critically ill patients with more than 15 years of hospital based patients care experience.
Dr. Gouya joined Quintiles after obtaining extensive clinical trials expertise as sub- and principal investigator at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology of the Medical University Vienna where she and her team were responsible for developing concept, design, protocol, performance, and management strategies for clinical phase I-II trials in cardiovascular and metabolic area. She published more than 30 research papers in peer reviewed journals and 3 book-chapters and actively participated in national and international congresses.
As the scientific lead of a joint project of the European Commission and the EFPIA to develop a European infrastructure for education and training in medicines development (www.emtrain.eu) she was able to develop a successful proposal with a large group of academic leaders and pharmaceutical companies and was assigned later to the head of communication until 2012.
