Jean-Louis Merot, M.D., has managed clinical trials for more than 20 years and currently serves as a senior medical director at Quintiles. In that role, Dr. Merot serves as a medical advisor for oncology clinical studies, providing medical support to study and site teams as well oversight of data quality. He also provides specialized input into oncology-related methodology and research topics related to peri-approval studies. Before assuming his current role, Dr. Merot was the senior director of project management for peri- and post-approval studies at Quintiles, during which he contributed to interventional and observational clinical studies across the globe.
Dr. Merot began his career in clinical research at Syntex Laboratories, where he was a clinical research physician. After that, he joined Benefit International, a contract research organization specializing in pharmacoeconomics and quality of life, where he held project management and consulting roles for six years.
Dr. Merot earned his medical doctor degree from Rennes University, France. He obtained university degrees in clinical research methodology and statistics and is currently pursuing a clinical oncology degree from Pierre and Marie Curie University, Paris, France. Dr. Merot also holds an M.B.A. with a specialization in the pharmaceutical industry, which he earned from the Tours Business School, France.
