Dr. Jeffrey Keefer is a medical director of hematology and oncology in the Therapeutic Science and Strategy Unit at Quintiles. He provides medical support for both business growth and trial delivery.
Dr. Keefer is a board-certified pediatric hematologist/oncologist, specializing in hematology, with 12 years of academic faculty experience. His academic work was focused on drug development in sickle cell disease. He has participated in the design and execution of trials in all phases of drug development and led a basic drug discovery research project for novel anti-sickling agents.
He received his BA in Biology from the University of Virginia and his MD and PhD degrees from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where his graduate work was in Pharmacology. He completed his residency in Pediatrics and served one year as Chief Resident at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He continued on there for Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology before joining the faculty in Pediatric Hematology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
