John Lee, M.D., Ph.D., FACC, is Vice President and Global Head of the Quintiles Cardiovascular Center of Excellence. In this role, he develops insights and innovations to drive successful cardiovascular clinical and business development programs.
Before joining Quintiles, Dr. Lee served as executive director at Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS), head of cardiovascular (CV) and metabolic diseases in early clinical and translational research. In that role, Dr. Lee was accountable for all clinical development plans, translational research and development programs, and Phase I, Phase 2A/proof-of-concept study designs and operational plans in that therapeutic area. As part of the CV leadership at BMS, he helped drive strategic planning for the therapeutic area. Prior to serving as CV/metabolic therapeutic area head, his roles at BMS included Clinical Lead for multiple CV programs and early development team leader for small molecule and biologic drug programs in the therapeutic area. Before his career at BMS, Dr. Lee was a medical director in global medical affairs at Merck and Co.
Dr. Lee holds a B.A. in biological sciences from Harvard University and an M.D./Ph.D. from Boston University School of Medicine. He trained in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he remained on faculty until joining Merck.
