Dr. Tai is a board certified adult endocrinologist with interest in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Since joining Quintiles, Dr. Tai has served as medical advisor for phase II - III diabetes, lipid, and cardiovascular outcome trials and supported project development in both the Diabetes and Cardiovascular Centers of Excellence. Previously, she conducted research in the field of nuclear receptor biology in the laboratory of Dr. Ron Evans at the Salk Institute to understand the function of nuclear receptors in the development of atherosclerosis in both the heart and the brain.
Dr. Tai is a physician scientist trained at Northwestern University in Chicago in the Medical Scientist Training Program, and completed internal medicine residency and endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism fellowship at University of California in San Diego. She has also been on the faculty of diabetes clinics at the San Diego Veterans Administration hospital.
