Dr. Goel is a Vice President with Quintiles' Advisory Services. She is Board Certified in Rheumatology and has more than 18 years of experience in academia and the pharmaceutical industry in clinical development and medical affairs, with proficiency in early to late stage product development and successful global regulatory approvals. Dr. Goel also is an active participant in OMERACT, an independent initiative of international health professionals interested in outcome measures in rheumatology.
Dr. Goel brings broad experience in working across the healthcare industry and has solid relationships within the medical and research community. She has worked as a medical advisor in numerous indications, including axial spondyloarthropathy, asthma, Crohn’s disease, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, pain, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, type 2 diabetes mellitus and ulcerative colitis. Prior to entering the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Goel was a (Clinical) Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), Galveston, Texas. In this role, she was active in patient care as well as co-development of rheumatology curricula for medical students, residents and fellows, and was an Investigator for multiple clinical drug studies and NIH clinical epidemiologic studies in systemic lupus erythematosus (LUMINA) and scleroderma (GENISOS). Dr. Goel’s pharmaceutical industry experience includes medical affairs roles at Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals and at UCB Inc., as well as development roles at UCB Inc. and Array Biopharma.
Dr. Goel is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at Duke University School of Medicine where she also completed her fellowship training in rheumatology and internal medicine residency. Dr. Goel completed her undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pennsylvania. She then pursued her medical degree at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
