Chief Pharmacy Officer of Pharmacy Services for RegenceRx

Helen Sherman is Chief Pharmacy Officer of Pharmacy Services for RegenceRx, the pharmacy benefit management program for nearly three million members served by Regence Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Plans in Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington. As one of the few not-for-profit PBMs in the country, RegenceRx focuses on helping consumers and health care professionals navigate the maze of medications options.

Helen joined Regence in 1996 as a clinical pharmacist consultant. She is currently responsible for the company’s pharmacy program, including operations, clinical services and sales.

Helen’s lifelong commitment to advancing the best use of medication is reflected in the core foundation of RegenceRx, which focuses on clinical evidence when building its list of preferred medications. Under her guidance, RegenceRx has been integral in helping Regence fulfill its goals of transforming the health care system by providing our members with sound, reliable information that helps them make informed decisions about their health.

She is also a well-known national speaker on a variety of pharmacy benefit management topics for such groups as America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and the World Health Care Congress.

Before coming to Regence, Helen was a home infusion pharmacy manager at Legacy Health Systems in Portland Oregon. Her pharmacy background covers over 20 years in managed care, retail, hospital, home care and community research settings.

Helen earned her bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Oregon State University and her Pharm.D. from Purdue University. She also received a residency certificate from Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. She is a member of the American Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy.
