Deepa Desai, B.H.M.S., is the senior manager and head of laboratory operations for Quintiles ECG services in India. As a primary liaison with the project management and business development teams, she ensures that all participants comply with ICH-GCP guidelines, meet timelines and obtain required resources for each project. She manages the operational documentation of every study and leads the logistical coordination of equipment inventory, hardware as well as software, including plans for backup equipment. She recruits and trains staff to assure coverage for maximum efficiency in the laboratory.
In 2002, Dr. Desai joined Quintiles, where she implements ISO 9001:2000 and plays a lead role in key issues related to quality management and process improvement. She identifies and develops leaders who improve the overall quality of the project and the cohesion of the team. Chief among her responsibilities is keeping apprised of new FDA guidelines. Dr. Desai's thorough documentation of every project contributes to the smooth operation of clinical trials.
Dr. Desai completed her degree from CMPH Medical College in Mumbai, India. During her career, she has worked as medical director for Namrata Infotech. She was chief administrator for Team Two Plus, where she was a medical lecturer and designed training course content.
