Paul Aisen is Professor of Neurosciences at the University of California, San Diego, where his primary research interests focus on the development of new strategies for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Since 2007, Dr. Aisen has been Director of the Alzheimer’s Disease Cooperative Study, a consortium funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) to develop assessment instruments and conduct clinical trials. He currently directs a number of multicenter therapeutic trials funded by the NIA, and collaborates extensively with the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Aisen is Associate Editor of Alzheimer’s Research and Therapy and sits on the editorial board of BMC Medicine. He has published more than 180 peer-reviewed papers.
