About the Authors

Oren J. Cohen, M.D. Chief Medical and Scientific Officer

Dr. Cohen serves as Quintiles’ lead medical expert and also holds an appointment as consulting Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Duke University Medical Center. His industry experience is concentrated in antiviral drug development. Previously, Dr. Cohen received several awards for his work at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). A fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, he also has published more than 50 articles and serves as a reviewer for such highly respected medical journals as The Lancet and AIDS, among others.

Kelly Tilson McKee Jr., M.D., M.P.H. Vice President, Public Health and Government Services

Dr. McKee has dedicated his career to researching and preventing infectious diseases. Before joining Quintiles in 2006, he served as Senior Director of Clinical Research and Chief Medical Officer for a vaccine development company. After finishing a 20-year career in the U.S. Army Medical Department, he served as the Head of General Communicable Disease Control and State Epidemiologist for North Carolina, but returned to government work at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID). He has written over 100 peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters and reviews manuscripts for several professional journals.
