We have worked to uphold this commitment for the more than 25 years since our company was founded. Our ethical approach to doing business extends through all levels of our company and across all our brands. We call this approach “Doing the Right Thing,” and it is established as our worldwide code of conduct.
All Quintiles employees are required to adhere to this code, which makes clear the company’s expectations of acceptable behavior in a variety of areas, including healthcare regulations, conflicts of interest and data privacy protection. We also have an internal Council on Data Protection, a central organization that establishes, disseminates and monitors implementation of Quintiles' data security, privacy policies and standards designed to protect individually identifiable information.
We put in place specific programs to reinforce ethical practices, including our Council on Research Ethics (CORE). Quintiles’ CORE was established to monitor implementation of Quintiles’ Corporate Policy regarding compliance and quality. This policy governs compliance with all applicable legal and ethical standards, as well as adherence to standard practices and procedures designed to ensure ethics in research. We are members of both the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO) and Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), and adhere to their codes of ethics.
