    Q10 awards

    On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the foundation of Quintiles Hungary Ltd., a scientific tender was published. Awards were presented by jury chair Prof. Dr. Zsuzsanna Fürst, Professor, Semmelweis University, Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy, Budapest, Chair, Medical Research Council, Ethics Committee for Clinical Pharmacology, Dr. Dennis Gillings, Chairman/CEO of Quintiles and Dr. János Filakovszky, Managing Director of Quintiles Eastern Europe Region and Middle East, at the symposium organized in the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

    The purpose of the tender was to sponsor the continued specialist training of outstandingly talented young experts. Tender applications were accepted in either of the two published categories with a paper covering a subject related to the clinical research. Entries were assessed by an independent specialist committee. Dr. Melinda Sobor won first prize in the student category and Dr. Krisztián Gáspár came out top in the young researcher category.

    For many years our office has considered it extremely important to provide support for the professional activities of young researchers. Of the tender applications submitted to the Medical and Health Science Section of the National Scientific Students’ Conference(organized in Pécs, April 2009), which were delivered at the conference, the following individuals won prizes put up by our office:
