Clinical Research contributes to the development of medicine. It is estimated that thanks to new drugs on the market in the last 20-30 years life expectancy has increased by about 5 years.

Clinical Research improves the quality of healthcare by providing patients with access to:

    • New drugs and treatments.
    • Better treatment of diseases for which there are no known therapeutic options or the available therapy is inadequate or poorly accessible (high cost, side effects, etc).
    • Non-standard medical care (patients under clinical research are covered by a higher standard of medical care - this means, amongst others, more frequent checks and a wider range of diagnostic tests).

Clinical studies as an opportunity for self-development through:

    • Increasing scientific output through publications - investigators can publish their own clinical observations (after receiving the consent of the trial sponsor).
    • Gaining experience about new drugs and treatment modalities.
    • Acquiring new clinical skills and developing those already possessed.
    • Gaining experience that can contribute to future opportunities of receiving research grants.
    • Meetings with global experts during Investigator Meetings and the sharing of experiences while conducting a study.

Clinical Research adds prestige to the role of an Investigator and the Institution represented.
