Ideally, UK pharmaceutical sales managers will have experience in pharmaceutical people management with a successful track record from within the industry, gained through coaching, motivating and leadership of a team of hospital, diagnostic and medical sales representatives.

Experience of performance management issues is helpful, but essential are a can do attitude, strong customer focus and ability to ensure your team reach/exceed targets.

Working as part of a wider cross functional team, pharmaceutical sales managers will demonstrate exceptional business acumen, strong presentation and reporting skills, to support your management of a regional team.

Additionally, to qualify for regional management jobs in pharmaceuctical sales, a candidate will be ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, and with the ABPI plus evidence of self development.

With the right attitude and skills, progression towards a First Line Manager position is within your reach.
