What will I learn?

The saying, “Everyday’s a school day” has never been more true than when applied to a Project Management career with QLAB. We guarantee that your learning and development will not start and end with our QGrADS training programme. All of our employee’s skills, knowledge and capabilities must constantly develop in order to keep up with the fast-paced and ever-evolving clinical trials industry.  That’s why we are dedicated to our ethos of continuous professional development and set individual development plans for each of our Project Services staff every year.

Of course, as a QGrADS Project Manager, you will get the best possible start to your postgraduate career. During your development you will be trained and mentored by our team of Project Services experts and become proficient in all aspects of project management including planning, executing, monitoring and closing your own clinical trial project. You will also develop world class customer service skills and apply them to your relationships with your pharmaceutical clients whilst simultaneously following regulatory guidelines, collaborating with colleagues across the world and understanding the day to day workings of a global central laboratory. It doesn’t get much better than that!

What does our programme look like?

As a QGrADS Project Manager you will embark on a development programme designed to accelerate your career with QLAB. You will complete our proprietary Project Manager training that will enable you to perform in role - just like our other Project Managers. However, you will also have exposure to the complete spectrum of QLAB activities.

As a QGrADS Project Manager, you will complete a rotation of short placements in other QLAB departments. You will learn how a database is built and how client data is managed. You’ll learn to build the kits we use in our trials, and you’ll see how they are shipped and how samples are received, tested and stored back at the laboratory. You will experience the vast range of tasks needed to deliver the laboratory testing on a clinical trial. These experiences will help you to become a strategic thinker and understand what it means to deliver lab services in a highly competitive marketplace.

During your rotations you will build business connections that will help you to develop and grow in your role. We expect high performance and recognise that you'll need support and guidance to succeed; accordingly your mentors will be our highest performers.

You will have regular meetings with a range of our experts including our senior management team, customer management leads, operational excellence group and our finance team. These relationships will help you to build business acumen and to understand what it means to be a leader in QLAB.

Your development and your career will be in your hands. You will need to embrace the varied experiences and challenges of the programme to maximise your development. Your objective is to apply your knowledge and behaviours to the Project Management role to achieve excellence in project delivery.
