(Nasdaq: QTRN) today announced the opening of an office in Mexico City to provide clinical trials services throughout Mexico. Quintiles currently is managing clinical trials in Mexico and four other countries in Latin America.
The office will be operated under a wholly owned subsidiary, Quintiles Mexico, S. de R.L. de C.V., and managed by Cristina Torres Leon, M.D. Dr. Torres was the founder and general manager of CT Consultoria Farmaceutica, the leading contract research organization (CRO) in Mexico. Dr. Torres has extensive experience in regulatory affairs and clinical trial management.

Prior to founding Consultoria Farmaceutica in 1994, Dr. Torres was head of clinical research for Hoechst Mexico. She obtained both her medical degree and diploma in clinical pharmacology from the Universidad Nacional Aut¢noma de Mexico.
