RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. - February 15, 2001- In alignment with the current contract pharmaceutical organization (CPO) structure established in selected geographic regions, Quintiles Transnational Corp. (Nasdaq: QTRN) today announced the following executive appointment in Latin America:
David Hodgson, vice president, Commercial Operations, Latin America. Hodgson will be responsible for business management of Quintiles Mexico and will provide overall strategic direction for commercialization throughout Latin America. This newly created position is aligned with the company's ongoing establishment of a contract pharmaceutical organization (CPO) structure in geographic regions where Quintiles' development, commercialization and information services are managed within a single organization. Hodgson will report to Oppel Greeff, M.D., president, Quintiles, South Africa, India and Latin America.
Hodgson has over 30 years experience in the pharmaceutical and related healthcare industries, having held sales, marketing and management positions of increasing responsibility. Hodgson gained extensive experience in international operations with AstraZeneca and other pharmaceutical companies in Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.
