Quintiles, the world’s leading biopharmaceutical services company, has again been named to Training magazine’s “Training Top 125,” the publication’s annual report that ranks companies based on their employer-sponsored training and development programs.
Quintiles rises to # 47 on the list after coming in at # 80 in 2009, the company’s first time in the rankings. Past honorees have included global corporations such as Microsoft, UPS, Lockheed Martin and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals among others.
“It is very rewarding for Quintiles to again be named to the Training Top 125, and to move up considerably in the rankings,” said Quintiles Vice President, Global Learning and Development Tim Bray. “Because we are a service-oriented company, the skills and knowledge of our employees are at the very core of what we do. We rely on our network of 23,000 talented and engaged professionals to consistently deliver on our promises to customers. Therefore, Quintiles places a special emphasis on growth and development.”
Selection of the Training Top 125 is based on a variety of benchmarking statistics such as number of training hours per employee program; goals, evaluation, measurement, and workplace surveys; hours of training per employee annually; and detailed formal programs.
Ranking within each year’s Top 125 is determined by assessing a range of qualitative and quantitative factors, including financial investment in employee development, the scope of development programs, and how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives. Other factors include Human Resources data such as turnover and new employee referrals.
