RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – August 2, 2010 – Quintiles today announced the appointment of Kevin K. Gordon to serve as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective immediately. In this role, he will have day to day responsibility for the financial management of the company.

Gordon comes to Quintiles with more than 25 years of experience, most recently serving as CFO at Teleflex Incorporated, a global, publicly traded company with $2 billion in revenues and a large presence in the health care markets.

He brings a strong track record in financial management and operational leadership in diverse, global companies as well as extensive experience in driving strategic growth and corporate development activities.

I am delighted to welcome Kevin to the Quintiles team,” said Quintiles Chairman and CEO, Dennis Gillings, CBE. “His 13 years of health care experience provide a very solid footing and knowledge base for leading Quintiles’ financial organization and building on our robust financial strategy.”

Kevin joins us at a pivotal moment in Quintiles’ growth as we help our customers navigate the New Health, the rapidly morphing world of biopharma. His skills fit well with the business partnering model toward which our customers are moving. Kevin’s experience in business transformation will assist us in capitalizing on the opportunities that lie ahead,” Gillings said.

Gordon succeeds current CFO Mike Troullis, an 18-year veteran of Quintiles. Troullis has served as Quintiles CFO since 2006 and will remain with the company, transitioning to a senior corporate role, managing Quintiles’ investments. “I am delighted that Mike has elected to remain with us,” Gillings said. “Under Mike’s guidance, Quintiles has grown strongly, improving profitability while maintaining a healthy cash balance even as the global economic downturn threatened businesses worldwide.”

Gordon will be relocating with his family from Pennsylvania to North Carolina.
