RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – February 11, 2010 – For the third year in a row, Quintiles has been recognized as one of the top organizations in the world for workforce training and development excellence with its inclusion in the Training “Top 125.”

The “Top 125” is Training magazine’s annual report ranking companies based on their employer-sponsored training and development programs. Quintiles rose 16 spots to 31st in this year’s rankings, up from 47th in 2010 and 80th in the company’s 2009 debut. Recent honorees have included global corporations such as Microsoft, McDonalds and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

“It is a great honor for Quintiles to have its training and development efforts recognized for three years in a row,” said Quintiles Vice President, Global Learning and Development, Tim Bray. “Quintiles is an organization that invests in its employees to the benefit of those employees, of course, but also for the success of our customers. We believe strong training and development makes Quintiles’ workforce among the best-trained employee populations in the world. We are able to do this because our senior management has recognized training and development as an investment, rather than a cost.”

Selection of the Training Top 125 is based on a variety of benchmarking statistics such as number of training hours per employee program; goals, evaluation, measurement, and workplace surveys; hours of training per employee annually; and detailed formal programs.

Ranking within each year’s Top 125 is determined by assessing a range of qualitative and quantitative factors, including financial investment in employee development, the scope of development programs, and how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives. Other factors include Human Resources data such as turnover and new employee referrals.
