Quintiles Drug Research Unit

Located in the heart of the city, Quintiles Drug Research Unit is spread over two sites: in Guy’s Hospital Tower and at Newcomen Street, inside Guy’s campus. We have established close collaborations with university research groups. The most recent, a formal partnership with King’s College London and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, will focus on translational medicine. A dedicated team of clinical physiologists are continuously developing new biomarkers and techniques for Phase I/IIa studies.

Clinic features

  • 55 hospital beds
  • Connected to Quintiles’ custom Phase I Clinical Trial System for electronic data capture (Part 11 compliant) 
  • Continuous cardiac monitoring/wireless telemetry and emergency crash carts on each ward 
  • Full-time specialists include principal investigators, clinical physiologists, clinical research nurses, pharmacists, clinical project managers, data managers and other support staff 
  • Onsite pharmacy holds GMP manufacturing authorization 
  • Volunteer amenities include spacious recreation areas and wireless internet
